Our road/racing bikes are all Carbon frames and equipped with Shimano Ultegra group-sets. Frame sizes from 47 to 61 cm are available.
All bikes are fitted with a pump, computer, spare tyre and repair kit, a free water bottle, and pedals. We can provide Look, Shimano SPD, Shimano SPD-SL or flat pedals; or you can bring your own.
Bicycles must be returned clean on the last day of hire or you can use our optional ‘bike spar’ service for $20.
Any problems with the bicycle must be reported on return and any damage made good.
Insurance is provided for damage and injury to third parties. Insurance for damage to the hire bicycle is available and is highly recommended.
It is essential that you ensure that you have read the following terms and conditions prior to signing. They have been kept as brief as possible. A more detailed copy is available and provided with the hire form.
SUMMARY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Booking Arrangements and Deposit
All quoted prices are in the currency stated and correct at time of printing. Prices are subject to change but shall not increase once a booking is accepted and confirmed. When making a booking the hirer must complete the booking form accepting these terms and conditions and pay a non-refundable 25% percent deposit.
The Hire Contract and Payment
The contract is solely between the hirer and Velocino Bayside. It takes effect upon signed completion of the booking form and payment of the required deposit. The balance of the hire fee must be paid in full at the time of collection or delivery.
Cancellation or Amendment
Any cancellation by a hirer must be made in writing by the person signing the booking form. Velocino Bayside reserves the right to cancel any hire due to unforeseen circumstances. If unable to provide the specific bicycle, Velocino Bayside shall make every reasonable effort to offer a replacement alternative, or provide a full refund. Should the hirer wish to alter booking arrangements after confirmation, Velocino Bayside shall endeavour to accommodate any such request. In some cases a fee may apply.
Pick-up and Return
The hirer is responsible for the collection and return of the hired bicycle at the time specified. Velocino Bayside does not guarantee that the booked bicycle will remain available if not collected when specified. A fee shall apply in respect of returns not received as specified. Pick-up and/or delivery may be negotiated; in such cases a fee will apply.
Responsibility and Liability
Bookings are accepted by Velocino Bayside based on the hirer being aware of the possible risks inherent in bicycle riding and undertaking the hire at their own volition. It is the responsibility of the hirer to apply due diligence to the care of the bicycle, themselves and others. This includes understanding and complying with all applicable laws and regulations; riding in a safe and courteous manner; using the bicycle solely for the explicit purpose for which it was designed; and, taking reasonable care to ensure that the bicycle is protected from damage and/or theft. The hirer, at their own expense, shall maintain the bicycle in good repair and condition and shall not alter the bicycle in any manner whatsoever. The hirer shall not remove, or permit to be remove, the bicycle beyond the boundaries of the State of Victoria. Velocino Bayside undertakes to perform all services with reasonable care and skill in order to ensure that the bicycle is fit for the purpose for which it is intended. Velocino Bayside shall not be responsible for or be liable to any hirer who commits an illegal or unlawful act. Velocino Bayside strongly recommends a medical assessment if the hirer is not a regular cyclist or does not participate in other regular physical activity. Velocino Bayside cannot be liable for personal injury, death, damage to property or other loss arising from any matter beyond its control. This includes inappropriate use.
Insurance
Travel insurance and/or personal accident/injury insurance is strongly advised. Velocino Bayside provides third party personal and property damage. The hirer is strongly encouraged to ensure that they have insurance cover for potential damage to the bicycle. Optionally Velocino Bayside offers this service for an additional fee.
Titles and Surrender
The bicycle is, and shall at all times remain, the property of Velocino Bayside. On expiration of the hire term, the hirer shall return the bicycle clean and in good repair, ordinary wear and tear accepted, at the time and location specified. (A fee applies for the cleaning of bicycles returned not having been cleaned.)
Default and Remedies
The hirer shall be in default under this agreement if the hirer shall: fail to pay any fees or incur any indebtedness to Velocino Bayside; fail to perform or observe according to its terms any covenant contained in this agreement, or any other instrument or document executed in connection with this agreement; or, commit or fail to commit any act that results in jeopardising the rights of Velocino Bayside. If the hirer is in default of this agreement, Velocino Bayside shall have the right to exercise the termination of this agreement and take reasonable steps to recover loss and damages incurred.
Complaints procedure
If the hirer has a complaint relating to the hire, the hirer should inform Velocino Bayside immediately; whereby nominated officers shall endeavour to rectify the matter. If unsatisfied, the hirer may exercise all and any rights in accordance with the law.
Governing Law
Any claim or complaint shall be considered according to the laws of Australia and each party irrevocably submits itself to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian Courts in respect of any proceedings arising out of or relating to such a claim or complaint.
Payment Method
All prices are shown in Australian Dollar currency and payment is required in Australian Dollar currency.
